INTERNSHIP CLEARINGHOUSE
The CDC Internship Clearinghouse serves students, faculty and employers. The Clearinghouse assists: Prospective interns in identifying appropriate internship sites, putting together top-notch application materials, helping to prepare for the internship interview, and advising interns on how to have a successful experience once accepted into an internship program. Information on receiving course credit for an internship via IDIS 201 and 202 can also be found here. To this end, three databases are maintained: Bulldogs4Hire; Internships-USA; and Internships.com. We also maintain a webpage with links to local, regional, and national internship search engines. Employers in posting internship opportunities, recruiting interns, developing new internship sites, and strengthening existing programs. The Internship Coordinator is available to work with site supervisors and interns about issues that may arise during an internship. Employers can send their announcements and internship opportunities directly to Bulldogs4Hire, as well as schedule campus interviews, and search resume books. Faculty in creating internship forms and evaluations, reviewing job descriptions and work assignments for relevancy, identifying internship sites related to academic discipline, and connecting with employers in various industries. Student Placements: The CDC Internship Clearinghouse will seek to collect data on students who participate in internships and receive academic credit for their experiences. Each semester, the CDC will request from the Registrar’s Office class rosters for all of the internship courses offered. CDC will contact each student requesting information about his/her internship. This information will be housed in the CDC.
