Kendra Simmons

Kendra Simmons, who graduated with honors and a bachelor of science degree in computer technology from Bowie State University in 2004, has joined the prestigious consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton. While attending Bowie State, she became a Thurgood Marshall scholar which enabled her to attend a career fair where she met staff members from the firm. They were impressed with her skills and attitude. She was later hired and assigned to project management support for the firm's information technology team. "Booz Allen truly promotes diversity and unity," says Kendra. "And Booz Allen is one of the top companies for working mothers, and I want to be one of those one day."

Thanks to her own mother and father, Kendra learned math and computer skills at an early age; she feels strongly that those skills have positioned her for career success. Being in the Science and Technology Program at Charles H. Flowers High School also helped to drive her passion for technology. Simmons graduated from Bowie State in 2004 with honors.
