|  Kendra Simmons
Kendra Simmons, who graduated with honors and a bachelor of science degree in computer technology from Bowie State University in 2004, has joined the prestigious consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton. While attending Bowie State, she became a Thurgood Marshall scholar which enabled her to attend a career fair where she met staff members from the firm. They were impressed with her skills and attitude. She was later hired and assigned to project management support for the firm's information technology team. "Booz Allen truly promotes diversity and unity," says Kendra. "And Booz Allen is one of the top companies for working mothers, and I want to be one of those one day." Thanks to her own mother and father, Kendra learned math and computer skills at an early age; she feels strongly that those skills have positioned her for career success. Being in the Science and Technology Program at Charles H. Flowers High School also helped to drive her passion for technology. Simmons graduated from Bowie State in 2004 with honors. |
Speaking little English, Ji-Wu Jia came to the United States with his wife and son in 1989 from Beijing, China, a society that is much more open to the world now than years ago. Home to the 2008 Olympics, Beijing is also where Jia received a bachelor’s degree in computer programming from Beijing College of Economics.
Dr. Sunando Sengupta has always been passionate about teaching and trying to enhance the learning experience through the use of technological aides. His love for teaching brought him to Bowie State University where he has been teaching since fall 2005. 
Originally from Leslie, Ga., Felicia Mensah received her bachelor's degree in pedology from Bowie State University in May 2008. While attending the University she often mentioned how she was positively influenced by faculty members Drs. Freddie Vaughn and Kim Barnett.
