Journalism Author Lisa Smith graduated in 1980 from Bowie State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Originally from Washington DC, Lisa A. Smith is climbing the ranks as one of the most talented writers on the literary scene. Professionally known as Author L.A. Smith, Lisa is the creative mind behind not one, not two, but three urban romance novels. Her first two racy romance novels, Love N Time released in 2007 and Making Love Last released in 2008, are both already setting the tone for what to expect from the third novel. Smith says her novels are known to warm the heart, engage the mind, excite the body and feed the soul, all at the same time. "I write these books with great passion and lots of love. In October 2008, Nikki E. Owens, a junior at Bowie State University, received a Milton Pericles Darden III Memorial Scholarship from the Scott Lee Foundation during its First Annual Nicole Lynette Scott Lee Memorial Scholarship Awards Reception. 
Dr. Sunando Sengupta has always been passionate about teaching and trying to enhance the learning experience through the use of technological aides. His love for teaching brought him to Bowie State University where he has been teaching since fall 2005. 
Originally from Leslie, Ga., Felicia Mensah received her bachelor's degree in pedology from Bowie State University in May 2008. While attending the University she often mentioned how she was positively influenced by faculty members Drs. Freddie Vaughn and Kim Barnett.
