| Dr. Azene Zenebe
Assistant ProfessorDr. Azene Zenebe joined the College of Business (COB) at Bowie State University in fall 2005 and currently serves as associate professor of Management Information Systems (MIS). He has more than 10 years of work experience as a computer information systems analyst, designer, developer and administrator; and more than seven years of experience in teaching and research in the field. Dr. Zenebe holds a PhD and MS in information systems from University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and a graduate certificate in information systems security from University of Maryland University College. Dr. Zenebe is passionate about his academic endeavor and he is proud to work at an institution that ranks 1st in the nation in graduating African Americans with master's degrees in computer sciences and information technology. Dr. Zenebe actively involves students in his teaching and research which focuses on the foundation of information systems, information systems security and assurance, database and decision systems, data mining for business intelligence, enterprise wide information systems, and knowledge representation and inference methods for user adaptive information systems. Dr. Zenebe has published numerous articles in scientific journals including in IEEE (originally named the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Inc.) and the Elsevier. He also has made several presentations in professional conferences and workshops. Dr. Zenebe, with colleagues in the MIS and Computer Science departments and Division of Information Technology, has been participating in the National Science Foundation and Maryland Higher Education Commission grants to enhance computer and information systems security education and research at Bowie and other institutions in Maryland. Dr. Zenebe has been serving as the coordinator of the Master of Science in Management Information Systems program. He is also a member of the University Information Technology Council Committee, the COB assessment committee, the Graduate School Council, and Institutional Review Board Committee. Dr. Zenebe is a member of the IEEE Society and the Maryland Alliance for Information Security Assurance (MAISA) and Intellectbase International Consortium Academic. Dr. Zenebe's hobbies include reading books, listening to music, watching movies, and playing and watching different sports. |
