Dr. John Word, of Bowie, Md., a two-time Bowie State alumnus, is a 14-year principal at Kenmore Middle School in Arlington, Va. He is the at-large member of the Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals Board of Directors. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 1977 and a master’s degree in 1981, both from Bowie State.
“We are charged with helping to assess the status of our university and support the implementation of the university's vision, mission, and goals,” said Dr. Word, who will serve a two-year term. “I am anxiously looking forward to what we will accomplish over the next two years as we build on the successes of the previous administration.”
