The Office of Student Accounts is committed to timely processing of student refunds. In order to receive your refund timely, please ensure with the University Registrar’s Office that your home address is correct. You can contact the Registrar’s Office at 301-860-3730.
Bowie State University is a State of Maryland agency and refund checks are sent from the State of Maryland’s Treasurer’s Office. Please allow 10-20 business days if you are receiving a paper check. To check the status of your State issued refund, please visit the General Accounting Division of the Comptroller of Maryland website at:
First time users to General Accounting Division (GAD) system are required to register. The “tax identification number” is your social security number and “Your Company Name” is Bowie State University.
If you opted to receive your funds through the Bowie Gold Card, please allow the same time frame.
Please note: If you have direct deposit through a job on campus, you will receive direct deposit of your refunds until you cancel you payroll direct deposit. The State of Maryland’s Treasurer’s Office no longer accepts direct deposit forms for student refunds.
It is your responsibility to maintain current bank account and address information with either Payroll or General Accounting Division direct deposits. The University cannot change any of the information recorded in these systems.
