Bowie State University held its 140th Commencement on Dec. 22, 2007, at the Leonidas James Gymnasium on campus. More than 200 students were awarded bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees during the University’s first Winter Commencement to be held in seven years. Dr. Mickey L. Burnim, University president, presided and Gov. Martin O’Malley delivered the commencement address.
