| I extend a special invitation to the male students, faculty and staff at Bowie State University to hear an inspiring message at the Male Initiative Gathering on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, from 3-5 p.m. in the Center for Learning & Technology, Room 102. Our guest speaker is Glenn D. Sessoms, a motivational speaker and a former accomplished business executive. Mr. Sessoms has 30 years of leadership experience at Johnson & Johnson and Federal Express to include serving as Vice President of Retail Operations as well as Chief Diversity Officer. He retired from corporate America in 2009 and has devoted much of his time as a motivational speaker with a focus on self development, leadership and diversity. He is actively involved in his community, serving on the boards of directors for several organizations and previously as acting Capital Campaign Chair for his alma mater, Virginia State University. The Bowie State University Male Initiative, which began in the fall semester of 2009, is focused on the advancement of our male students. The male faculty and staff who participate in the Initiative are committed to helping male students to reach their full potential through the development of their academic, personal, and social skills.
