The Academic Advising Center (AAC) at Bowie State University is committed to assisting students in identifying and completing their educational goals in a friendly, helpful, and professional environment. The Center's professional advisors deliver services to all students at the University, but they focus primarily on the advisement, development, and retention of first and second-year students.
Successful academic advisement occurs when the student, Academic Advisement Specialist, and faculty work together as partners with the shared responsibility of ensuring the academic progression and success of the student. Academic advisement involves assisting students in the selection of courses, identification of programs of study, and review of their life and career goals. AAC's staff is committed to the success of all students.
