Greetings from the Academic Advising Center
The Academic Advising Center (AAC) provides centralized and integrated advising services to incoming and continuing undergraduate students through the completion of 59 credits, for most students. Once you reach 60 credits, you are required to go to your major departments for advising.
The Center staff serves as a support system to foster the timely and successful completion of the baccalaureate degree. We believe that strong advising structures are synonymous to teaching, and that advising is integral to providing uniformity of information, clarity of policies and information accessibility that help you make decisions and develop learning goals, based on your interests and abilities.
Through our many programs and services, outreach and initiatives, we reinforce the important role of academic advising in student achievement and retention. It is our hope that you will take advantage of every opportunity to participate in our community here at BSU, through social activities, educational events, and through participation in civic engagement projects throughout the year.
We welcome and encourage you to visit with an Academic Advisor throughout your first two years and look forward to working with you to develop your graduation plan, and shepherd you through a seamless transition to your major department.
