The Torch: A Journal of Student Expression —The Torch is the official literary magazine of the University. Published by the Creative Writing Program in the Department of English and Modern Languages, The Torch is designed to encourage creative expression and scholarly articles by students. The 2015 edition of the journal will include the finalists of the Creative Writing Contest (co-sponsored with the Smith Vidal Literacy Center in February).
Current students and alumni are encouraged to submit literary and scholarly works as well as artwork. Submissions may be in languages other than English. The journal is edited by students with the guidance of a faculty advisor. Faculty and staff may also submit to the journal. The latest edition was edited by Laura Neal, Emmanuel Smith, and Melanie Young.
