Food Day 2014

Third Annual  Food Day Symposium, October 24, 2014

BSU Dining Services, USDA Beltsville Research Center, and Prince George’s County Food Equity Council

 

The Fourth Annual Food Day Symposium, “So Full... and Yet Hungry” will be held on October 24, 2014, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., on the campus of Bowie State University at Student Center Ballroom.  Food Day is a nationwide celebration and a movement for healthy, affordable and sustainable food.

Program Highlights include:

  1. Guest Speakers, presentations from students, faculty and research scientists and community groups; Panel and Break out discussions
  2. Student Posters and food related Exhibits
  3. Healthy cooking demonstrations aired live on television
  4. Competitive activities focused on diet and exercise (e.g., “Biggest Looser” - style challenges)
  5. In-depth discussions among participants toward solutions to food related disorders such as obesity, cancer and other topics including Healthy sustainable Food production

We therefore invite you to join us in this all day celebration.
