The Acquisitions Department is committed to the appropriate increase of academic resources for the Thurgood Marshall Library. Acquisitions works in conjunction with library and faculty liaisons to help build a strong collection which is centered on the core curricula of the University and its mission.
The Acquisitions Department is located on the first floor of the library, Suite 1160, in the Technical Services area. For more information, call 301-860-3994.
If you would like the library to purchase a book, reference resources, newspapers, journals, electronic resources or media, the first step is to check the Catalog USMAI. The library may already have what you want. If that is not the case, please complete the Acquisitions Purchase Form (see below) with the required personal information, correct title of the item, author, publication information, and state why the library should purchase the item. You will be notified via email or phone once the item has been received and catalogued. You also have the option of sending your request via email to the Acquisitions Department.
