Scholar's Studio Learning Community: first-time, full-time freshmen enroll in 4-5 common courses and use the knowledge, skills, and perspectives gained in those courses to make a difference in the world. To accomplish this, they work with faculty during the fall and spring semesters to explore, research, and develop strategies to address an issue of social and personal concern; at the same time, they engage in a variety of activities inside and outside the classroom to develop a deeper understanding of the selected problem. Students who participate in the learning community have the opportunity to receive personal and academic support, including peer mentoring, supplemental instruction, and one-on-one tutoring; develop as scholars in a dynamic, collaborative environment; and interact with students who have similar academic goals.
Academic Advising: All TRiO students with 59 credits or less receive academic advising from TRiO counseling staff. Working in partnership with academic departments, students are assisted in the selection of courses, identification of programs of study, and review of life and career goals.
Math Tutoring: TRiO offers individual and group tutoring in math.
Writing Tutoring: TRiO offers individual and group tutoring services in writing.
