Major Timothy Blackwell

            Major Timothy Blackwell’s hometown is Lawton, Oklahoma.  In 1989 he enlisted in the Army as a 76Y10 (Unit Supply Specialist).  In 1992 he was awarded an Army ROTC Scholarship and attended Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma.  In 1994 he was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery.  He was awarded a Master of Arts degree in Management from Webster University in 2004.

        His military education includes the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, the Field Artillery Officer Advanced Course, Fort Sill, Oklahoma; the U.S. Army Combined Arms Services and Staff School, Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas; and the U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Quantico, Virginia.  Major Blackwell is also a graduate of the Basic Parachutist Course (Airborne) at Fort Benning, GA.
Major Blackwell’s tours of duty include Fire Direction Officer, Platoon Leader, Battalion Fire Direction Officer, and Assistant S3 for the 1st Battalion, 17th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Sill, Oklahoma;  Division Fire Support Planner, 1st Infantry Division, Wurzburg, Germany,  Battery Commander, Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 7th Field Artillery Regiment, Schweinfurt Germany;  Captains and Major’s Career Manager/ Assignment Officer, Field Artillery Branch, U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Alexandria, Virginia; Iraqi Army Military Advisor(Team Chief), Mosul, Iraq;  1st Infantry Division G-7 (Information Operations);  Battalion Operations Officer(S3),  2nd Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery Regiment; and Executive Officer (XO), 2nd Battalion, 32nd  Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Riley Kansas.

         Major Blackwell’s awards and decorations include the Purple Heart, Bronze Star (1 Oak Leaf Cluster),  Meritorious  Service Medal (3 Oak Leaf Clusters),  Army Commendation Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal,  National Defense Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service  Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, NATO Service Medal, Southwest Asia Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge and Basic Parachutist Badge.

        Major Blackwell’s deployment experiences have varied over the years including several humanitarian deployments to countries such as Cuba and the Balkans and several combat tours to the Middle East.
Major Blackwell is married to the former Michelle Crump J.D.  He has two daughters Kiara (17) and Gabrielle (1).
