The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Bowie State University College of Business have teamed up to create a Mentoring Program for College of Business students.  The program is part of a broader EPA and Bowie State University partnership to expand career and professional development opportunities for students.  The Mentoring Program provides College of Business students valuable career advice. It also affords an opportunity for students to network with EPA professionals and participate in a job shadowing day at EPA.

Under the program, participating students will be matched for one-on-one mentoring primarily by telephone and email.  Depending on the student’s particular mentoring needs and objectives, EPA mentors may be called on to share their knowledge and insight on career goals and job preparation, including providing feedback on the student’s resume and writing sample, or helping to arrange for an informational interview with a professional in the student’s chosen career field.

The Mentoring Program will officially launch on January 24, 2011.  If you are interested in taking advantage of this exciting mentoring opportunity, complete the “Student Mentee Profile Form” and submit your completed form via e-mail to Denise Polk and Joselynn Hawkins. Please indicate in the email subject line:  “Student Mentee Profile.”
