Dr. Tracie Babb has always loved the university campus. She earned her PhD in rhetoric and intercultural communication from Howard University in Washington, DC. While she held an enviable position at Burson-Marsteller, one of the leading public relations firms in the country, she simultaneously pursued a Master of Arts in public communication from Fordham University in New York City. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and media studies and African American history from Fordham University.

Dr. Babb is committed to pursuing research that will positively impact diasporan communities. Her research focuses on marginalized populations, gender communication, and popular culture. She has teaching experience in both traditional and online classroom settings. She has taught courses in communication conflict, human dynamics and public speaking. Dr. Babb's teaching philosophy is one that bridges theory and practice. She is frequently invited as the guest speaker at community-based youth forums. She previously taught at Princeton University at the Junior Statesmen of America program.

She is a member of the National Communication Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is the faculty advisor for the Public Relations Student Society of America. Dr. Babb currently serves as one of the executive editors for The Journal of Higher Education Excellence, founded at Baltimore City Community College, and was recently nominated for Who's Who Among American Teachers and Educators. She enjoys traveling, fine dining, and vintage shopping.
