Dr. Kehbuma Langmia teaches research and other media-related courses in the Department of Communications.  A graduate from the Television and Film Academy in Munich, Germany, Langmia has extensive knowledge and training in media productions and management.  Since earning his PhD in mass communications and media studies from Howard University in 2006, he has written and published fiction and non-fiction books, book chapters and research articles in prominent national and international journals.

His most recent work include “The secret weapon of globalization: China’s activities in sub-Saharan Africa” in the Journal of Third World Studies, Vol. 28 ( 2), 2011; “ Moving the sign post? Resolving inter-village rivalry through a form of communication” in C. Onwumechili & I. Ndolo’s book edition published by Rowman and Littlefield, 2013;  Media and Technology in Emerging African Democracies with Cosmas Nwokeafor, Interim Dean for the Graduate School at Bowie State University published by the University Press of America, 2010; “Globalization and traditional cultures” in St. Armand, Kirk & O. Bolanle’s edited book “ Globalization and Digital Divide, published by Cambria Press, New York, 2011.  He is presently working on a research article on smartphone use in the classroom at Bowie State University.
