Education: PhD in communication and culture, Howard University MA in speech communication, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania MA in world literature, Beijing Normal University, China BA in Chinese language and literature, Qufu Normal University, China Dr. Wei Sun joined Bowie State University in fall 2004. Her area of specialization is intercultural communication. Her research interests include conflict management in intercultural communication context, cultural adjustment, crisis communication, minority invisibility, and media studies. She is a member of International Communication Association, National Communication, Eastern Communication Association, and Association for Chinese Communication Studies. The courses Dr. Sun teaches include: Organizational and Intercultural Communication, Corporate Telecommunication, Introduction to Mass Communication, Broadcast Advertising and Sales Management, Organizational Communication, Interpersonal Communication, and International Telecommunication. Her publications have appeared on The Howard Journal of Communications, Intercultural Communication Studies, and World Communication. Her works have been included in several books as well. Her book, Minority Invisibility: An Asian American Experience, was published by University Press of America in September 2007. In the summer of 2006, Dr. Sun traveled to Guyana, New Orleans, and Thailand on a JIP grant from Tokyo Foundation, studying crisis communications.
