Biography Samuel A. Duah, assistant professor, received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1979 and an MBA in accounting and finance from Atlanta University in 1981. He currently serves as chair of the Department of Accounting, Finance, and Economics. Professor Duah has taught at Bowie State University for more than 24 years. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting and finance. Before becoming chair of the department in 2004, he was the coordinator for the accounting program from 1985 to 2004. Professor Duah also served on the curriculum committee for one year as vice chairman. He has also served as acting dean in the dean's absence. Professor Duah has served on other University school and department committees, including Faculty Senate, faculty search committees and the School of Business Dean's Search Committee. In addition to his duties as an instructor and chair of the department, Professor Duah is a certified public accountant and often serves as a consultant in the areas of accounting, taxes, and auditing. He is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, Maryland Society of Accountants, Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, and American Accounting Association.
