| Valentine's Day with a Fashion TwistMassacre Model CompetitionBy Kira Ward For those who didn't quite get the Valentine's Day they expected, Cupid came through with a surprise for everyone. Living Legends Entertainment, LLC sponsored the Valentines Day Massacre model competition, a fashion and runway competition involving Living Legends themselves, Models INC., and Models Envied. The competition began with an interesting coin toss in which heads or tails determined which group would go firs, and Models INC. won the coin toss to begin the competition. Bold shades of red, elaborate props, precise choreography, and costumes entailed Models INC.'s first scene. In between each scene of the two battling troupes, models of Living Legends would grace the stage with their own original runway routine. The first scene entailed an all white theme accompanied by stilettos for the ladies and the guys sporting shades of purple. The audience was first introduced to Models Envied as they grace the stage with rigid choreography. This scene gave the audience a touch of red for the ladies and black accents for the gentlemen. The crowd was moved by the ending, which included a "gang" fight that was enacted. As the show continued, Living Legends returned for a scene enthralled in preppy accents and pastel colors that are in style this season. At a certain portion of the show, Living Legends members who were not in the scenes were asked to come up to the stage and walk, which the audience cheered on with enthusiasm. The later part of the competition appeared to be the climax for all who participated. In this portion, entitled the "Battle Zone," troupes would get to demonstrate their abilities in reference to style, walk, technique, and other areas, in an effort to win the title. Categories consisted of but were not limited to, a wedding theme, in which participants had to wear wedding attire and work their look while showing technique, the color pink accompanied with shades theme; a suit theme, and a heart had to accompany the look, a diamond theme in which the contestants had to beat their face with diamonds, a voluptuous valentine scene for the full figured fashionistas, chocolate factory, where the clothes had to be Willy Wonka inspired, a fur scene, a scene that put emphasis on creative hair, and a thin line between love and hate. During these battles, troupes got to choose a certain amount of members to represent for them and compete against their opponent. They were then asked to begin battling and show their best work. In these battles, many factors were taken into account, but the audience also attempted to play a role in the winner selection. Judges tried to remain unshaken by the audience's input although at times this was very difficult. The competition was rather close and although both troupes' scenes were enthralled with creativity, heavy choreography, extreme runway talent, and the latest fashions, there could only be one victor. After careful deliberation from the judges, Models Envied was crowned winner of the competition, in which they were awarded a grand prize for their victory. |
