Stars Come Out at Senior Class Talent Show

By Jamal Barbari

Singers, poets and other performers took the stage Oct. 1 at the "Senior Class Talent Show" hosted by the Student Government Association in CLT 102. The performers amazed the audience not only with their gifts, but with their courage to get up in front of a live audience.

Several students turned out to cheer the contestant who also had the support of co-hosts Mr. Bowie Bryant Stewart as well as the SGA president Kirk Pressley.

The hosts were warming and welcoming to everyone, which helped ease the tension and nervousness from the participants as well as the audience. They ensured a great show by keeping the audience and participants happy with intermission jokes and reminding everyone that no matter what, "everyone is a star."

All the performances were outstanding and included a variety of beautifully sung songs and powerfully spoken poetry. The competition was intense and it appeared that the judges had a difficult time choosing the winner. But in every competition only one can win and the panel of judges had to choose its winner.

They were pleased to announce Stefan Sertima and his group as the winners, who automatically get the opportunity to participate in "Bowie Has Talent" show without having to audition.

The winner of "Bowie Has Talent" wins a cash prize as well as the opportunity to open BSU's Homecoming Concert later this month.
