My Little Secret Ingredient

A great shampoo can make or break the health of your hair, literally. Having a good foundation of shampoo will give you volume in shine you need. It is not about the product you use or how much you spend; it is all about how you use it.

There is no type of harm in washing your everyday, unless it causes breakage due to hair type. If you have oily hair or work out daily, it is acceptable to wash your hair everyday. With normal hair, every other day will do and for chemically treated or dry hair, every few days are best. In all reality, the wetting, drying, and styling process takes the moisture out of your hair.

Shampoos are good up to two to three years. So there is not any reason to use a lot all at once. A simple dollop will do the trick. Now, for the true shampoo lovers out there, your hair will NOT fall out if you are over using your shampoo. As long as you rinse all of the shampoo out, and it is not medicated shampoo, you will be fine.

Some ideal water temperature for washing hair is warm water. Warm water is more effective in obtaining a nice lather. One thing to remember is to avoid really hot water because it will leave hair dry and limp. For the final rinse, it is best to rinse with cold water because it locks in helpful ingredients in and leaves shine.

To protect color while gaining volume and shine, you should try Dove Volumizing Color Shampoo. Also, it is best not to wash hair within two days before color treatment. Hair absorbs color better when it is dirty rather than squeaky clean. To top it off, you should use a conditioner at least twice a month, which helps moisturizes your hair as well. Happy journey to healthy shiny hair!
