Red Light Special

When I think of the word summer I think of brightly colored clothes, big straw floppy hats, cute embellished sandals, and for some reason, hot dogs.  You can wear any color and still be fashion forward.  The summertime is always about bold statement pieces.  The summer is well behind us now and the fall/winter months are vastly approaching with a few surprises in store.

When the winter rolls around, everyone reverts to wearing dark colors.  Black coats, black boots, black gloves, etc.  Wearing bright colors is not commonly seen in the U.S. for the fall.  It seems like people are afraid to branch out and be bold.

This year, that will all change for the better.  This season’s hottest color is sure to make a statement.  What is it you may be asking...well it’s the bold and the beautiful RED!  That’s right…luxurious red it is.  It’s not a dark boring wine red…it’s a blazing crimson!

When most people think of this color, they think of love. Well this year, February is not the only month that will be seeing red.  Love will be the “haute-couture-ness” of outfits put together by the uber stylish.  I’m not talking accent pieces.  From full on monochromatic ensembles to just a simple red lip, you will be sure to be an eye-catcher.

This fiery-hot color was seen constantly on the runways for this season. Gucci, Lanvin, Michael Kors, and Diane von Furstenberg were just a few who had these sizzling sirens strut down the catwalk.  Furs, dresses, and suits will all be the answers for accomplishing the vibrant color.  So for all you fashionistas who dare to be different, don’t blend in this season with a bland black pea coat or a basic brown fur.  Sport a rich scarlet floor-length coat and you will be sure to stand out.
