Or do you want to learn about the various job opportunities available dealing with businesses and finances? Then the Finance and Economics Club is the club for you. There are numerous opportunities to gain knowledge in the business world. According to their page on www.bowiestate.edu, the mission of the Finance and Economics Club is to engage the business students at Bowie State University in a process of career building through networking with other business organizations, institutions, and community groups. The Finance and Economics Club at Bowie State University has been operating since 2005, and is a very active club. The club is open to all majors. The group meets on the first and third Monday of each month in Room 3100 of the Center for Business and Graduate Studies building. The club is led by Bowie State senior Phillip Thomas, along with vice president James Ojewunmi and advisor Dr. LaTanya N. Brown. Some of the many events in the club include an active guest speaker series, which includes discussions such as financial empowerment, investing in money, and wealth and management distribution information about their corporations. The group also provides information about internship and job opportunities from the business and finance world. The group has also taken field trips to Wall Street in New York City.
