| Student Alumni Association Inducts New Members
Some 22 students took the oath of service as new members of the BSU Student Alumni Association during an induction ceremony on April 22 at the Goodloe Alumni House. The guest speaker for the occasion, Calvin Hawkins, former BSU SGA President and Solicitor General, gave the students words of wisdom and information that would assist help with the tasks as they re-define and re-build the organization. The Student Alumni Association (SAA), a program of Bowie State University and Bowie State University National Alumni Association, sponsors, plans and coordinates programs and for BSU students, alumni, and prospective students. The group will provide activities that enhance school spirit both on and off-campus for Bulldogs everywhere! SAA strives to connect and involve students with Bowie State University through learning and leadership opportunities, events, services and BSU traditions, while fostering a sense of loyalty and pride. The Alumni Association hopes its Student Alumni members will continue their involvement and dedication to the university by becoming Alumni Association members when they graduate. The Student Alumni Association fosters school spirit and traditions, encourages active relationships with alumni and students, and cultivates future alumni leaders. Speaking little English, Ji-Wu Jia came to the United States with his wife and son in 1989 from Beijing, China, a society that is much more open to the world now than years ago. Home to the 2008 Olympics, Beijing is also where Jia received a bachelor’s degree in computer programming from Beijing College of Economics.
Professor E. Tony Yorkman currently serves as Lecturer in the College of Business, Department of Management Information Systems. 
After earning a bachelor's degree in business administration in marketing from James Madison University, Angela spent more than a decade working in small and large organizations and honing her leadership and organizational skills.
