| Wilson's meteoric rise from Promotions Coordinator to Promotions/ Marketing Director of Radio One The Student Alumni Association every month invites an alumnus back to campus to share the bulldog experience. The April alumni featured speakers is Ms. Quon Cheri Wilson, class of 2007. Ms. Wilson's meteoric rise from Promotions Coordinator to Promotions/ Marketing Director of Radio One property 93.9 WKYS-FM in just a year is only a glimpse of what's to come from the savvy "Marketing Guru on a Budget" as Wilson is known for creating and executing high impact promotions and contests on a $0 budget! As one of the youngest members of management at Radio One Washington, D.C., she is an illustration of the fresh leadership needed in today's entertainment, corporate and social landscapes. As a 2007 graduate of Bowie State University, Wilson studied nursing and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in communications with a concentration in public relations. Outside of mastering the art of creating innovative marketing tactics on a budget, Wilson is best know for her work in the HIV/AIDS prevention arena. As a student at Bowie State, Wilson developed over 150 campaigns and programming that educated students of Bowie State on HIV/AIDS prevention. Wilson's innovative approach to educating on HIV/AIDS prevention led her work to be featured in local and national conferences, and on the Federal Governments broadcasting network Voice of America. Wilson's innate passion for social, cultural and community awareness on HIV/AIDS prevention surpasses national boarders, as some of her work and creative programming has been adopted and utilized by the Youth for Change organization in Kenya, South Africa, creating a global platform for change. In addition to the many hats that Wilson wears, Wilson does marketing and events for Michael Bivins of R&B group New Edition and the hip hop group BBD. Wilson is also a writer/contributor to the Frequency Magazine, the official corporate magazine for radio/media conglomerate, Radio One. Wilson's contributions to the Frequency include the column, Eventquisite. In the feature Wilson writes articles that teach industry professionals how to execute innovative marketing and promotional tactics on a minimal to $0 budget.
