| Assistant Editor's Two CentsMusic Choices Everyone knows the new songs that have came out this past year. You have the occasional Ain't I-Yung La ft Young Dro & T.I., See You In My Nightmares-Kanye West & Lil Wayne, Turnin Me On- Keri Hilson, Crack A Bottle-Eminem & 50 Cent, Drop-Rich Boy, Make The Trap (Aaayy)-OJ da Juiceman & Gucci Man etc. Various songs are hot and some are and or can be one hit wonders. The fact of the matter is that with the right beat anyone can make a record deal these days. For example, now don't get me wrong it can be cool to an extent. Take one of the top dance songs, Stanky Leg. C'mon are you serious, do the stanky leg? Honestly this is supposedly just a hot song right now and I don't think that the artist is going to be out much longer. A lot of artists come out with hot one hit wonder songs but when you get the CD it is not all that and not the hype as much as you think it is. If you really watch the dance you will see why. A know that a lot of females will do the dance in the club but a lot of people are not feeling it at all. Another example is when Soulja Boy Tellem came out with the very first Crank That. It was pointless; yes you can get use to it but seriously. As soon as that dropped you had a bunch of crank that songs such as Crank That Lion King, Crank That Forest Jump, Jump Rope, Grandpa, Aquaman, Batman, Spiderman and so forth. What happened to the music (the real music)? Do you really believe that if Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac were alive some of these dumb songs would not be hot or where it is right now? Then again the song is okay when you get use to it, but does it ever get annoying sometimes? Always having to do that dance, I know for sure that everyone has a different opinion on some of the songs that is hot. Like they say on the radio when a new song comes out Kiss It or Diss It? You do not have to like every song that has come out. Nothing is wrong with giving it a chance because some seem to grow on you. Even though you are entitled to you own opinion. When it comes to Go-Go, it does get you hype and people can vibe to it but do they really need to make a go-go song about every new song or song that is out? Sometimes songs just are fine by themselves and sometimes they can make it better than the original. I don't know if they have a go-go song for Miss Independent yet, but if they did I would not be surprised. Baltimore Club music can also get annoying as well because all of the remixes; switch it up and make it unique. Then again it is fun to dance to and see people dance to it, especially when they "syce" them. Music needs to be more creative because it is like with the right beat ANYBODY can make record deal these days. |
