| The High Price of a College Education
Books on campus cost a bundle and they tend to hurt your pocketbook. Even when students by used books, these books are nearly as costly as new ones. I know you hate it when you buy a book and the teacher does not go over it in class or at all. They say it is a resource for you to use when you do your homework. When it comes to books, students can spend several hundred dollars. Sadly, after you dish out a pretty penny for a textbook, oftentimes you will hardly use it during the semester, and when you return it, you can't even get half of your money back. If possible, buy used books first because it will save you money. Sell your books back as soon as you can, whether it is during finals week or as soon as you get back, because you want to get some dough in your pocket for the upcoming semester. Everyone might as well get a new Bowie card and retake there picture every semester because for those of you who do not know, Bowie State University takes out two or fives dollars every semester for your new Bowie card. You might as well not let that money go to waste and check up on your Bowie card from previous semesters because your money does transfer over if you have not used them up yet. A lot of people stay on campus and even that can cost you an arm and a leg. I just wish that all of the money that they are taking/using can at least make the dorms a bit safer and or fix them up. Give brand new appliances, new bathrooms or even expand the campus in general (work in progress). I'm not sure about this whole lottery system when it comes to campus housing. But it is something different and we have to try it out. It's just going to be a major pain if you're an out-of-state student and you don't get to live on campus. So I advise you to turn in your paperwork early so there will not be a big hassle. Staying in CMRC is cool, but $8,000 (approximately) for a year just to stay in there Best wishes to everyone on their final grades, and congratulations to the graduating seniors. Make sure to have a great summer, be safe, God bless and see you in the fall. |
