       In Debt, But I'M Fly

            By Crystal Gillespie

Ladies!  Welcome to the danger zone!  Why must we get caught up in the materialistic things we see on television? We must do better.

I call this section: LONG HAIR, RED BOTTOMS.

Ladies, ladies, ladies. We are college students on the road to success. We must prioritize our priorities. Every semester I notice the change in clothing once the refund checks are issued. Instead of buying items that complement our education such as laptops, books, supplies, etc. I notice the new Remy tracks, the latest heels, designer shades, clothes from the top brand store. When it's clear some of the ladies are not dressing like this in the beginning of the  semester. What are we becoming?

Students must understand that money borrowed, turns into money owed. The saying "hair done, nails done, everything did" is not a good look. We subconsciously record things we hear from television and/or radio causing a vast majority of females to live up to what we hear. You fancy huh? Clothes to die for. Pictures uploaded to Facebook from the latest camera. Money to blow. Walking on new shoes, but no money in your pocket within a few weeks after everything is spent. Can you say broke?

This is something that can be changed. Let' let go of the things we see and hear in the media as must-have items. Play the position of the intelligent students that you are and focus on your education. Once focused on your education , you can eventually become successful and have the means to buy whatever it is that you want. Success is everything!
