Lady Bulldogs Riding Winning Streak

By Clarence Conaway

The Lady Bulldogs' softball team is having a great season this year. Their record currently sits at 16-4 overall and a stunning 13-1 record inside the CIAA conference. The Lady Bulldogs are currently riding a 10-game winning streak with the season winding down including their senior day match up against Virginia State. They would not disappoint their fans as they went on to win the double headers with the scores being 8-0 and 5-2. Senior Tricia Corbin has definitely worked hard in her last season as she leads the team in hits and runs with 37 a piece. Corbin has also started every game this season. However, she isn't the only senior going out with a bang; Heather Enders is also having a great year wining 9 of 11 games and leads the team in strike-outs with 56.

This team certainly has not folded under the national rankings that they received earlier in the season. Instead, it can be argued that they have taken their play to another level. It certainly will be exciting to see how far this team winds up going, but first they have to finish up the regular season as well as the CIAA tournament.
