Lady Bulldogs off to Rocky Start

By Clarence Conaway

The Lady Bulldogs volleyball season has gotten off to a rocky start as the have opened the season 0-8.  The Lady Bulldogs saw their first action on the road in West Virginia as they would take on Lady Rams of Shepherd University and be swept 3 games to none. Before the Lady Bulldogs left West Virginia they would also take on the Lady Warriors on East Stroudsburg. Unfortunately, this match would also end up in a sweep of the Lady Bulldogs.

After returning from West Virginia the Lady Bulldogs would hit the road again. This time they were headed to Wilmington Delaware. The Lady Bulldogs would come up short in two more matches as they would lose to the Lady Rams of Philadelphia University and the Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College.

The Lady Bulldogs would finally get some action at home as they faced familiar foe and CIAA rival Virginia Union. The Lady panthers would jump out to a 2 game lead; however the Lady Bulldogs would battle back and force a 5th game in front of their home crowd.

After the quick home stint the lady Bulldogs were back on the road for the Dutch Country Spiketacular in Millersville Pennsylvania. The Lady Bulldogs would continue to struggle losing all 3 games.

However, all is not lost; the Lady Bulldogs still have over 20 games left with many of them being home games. Also there are still many conference games left for the Lady Bulldogs. With a little support from the Bulldog nation the Lady Bulldogs can get things rolling starting with a victory on September 11th against the Lady Bears of Shaw University.
