No Lucky Charms for Lady BulldogsBy Emery Rudolph Last Saturday, the struggling Lady Bulldogs (2-17, 1-9 CIAA) volleyball squad took on the CIAA's best Elizabeth City State University (15-9, 11-1 CIAA). The drastic difference between the records of each team explained exactly how the match went. It was a 0-3 sweep in the Lady Vikings favor. Each game throughout the match was nowhere near competitive or entertaining. The Lady Bulldogs lost 8-25, 13-25, and 13-25 yet again. The Lady Vikings came in attacking on their toes, and never ever looked back to think twice. They however, did have a slight advantage with a roster that was nearly twice the size of the Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Bulldogs concluded the match with just a .143 hitting percentage. Jasmine Nixon led the Bowie State attack with seven kills and six digs. Not too far behind her was sophomore middle hitter Joshlyn Eggleston out of Joppatowne with seven digs and five kills. Cassie Noe led her team in digs with eight. Her teammate Regan Simpson had 11 assists along with six digs. With the help of the rest of their team, they put the Lady Bulldogs to rest early in the match. Their next home match is against the Lady Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College. The Lady Lightning are coming into the game with a 5-13 overall record. |
