The SPORTSZONEBy Emery Rudolph So, another week, third week in a row actually that the Baltimore Ravens lost. Very disappointed because it came down to a simple 44-yard field goal with time expiring. This fool Steve Hauschka decided to kick the ball wide left though to lose the game for the Ravens and put them at .500. Such a promising looking season just three weeks ago now could go one way or the other because of a missed field goal. Momentum is definitely not swinging in their favor as of this right now. Hopefully the Ravens will pull it together. Did you just ask if our football team won?? I should smack the complexion off your skin, of course we did! The Bulldogs now stand at (6-2) overall and remain undefeated in the CIAA (5-0). They defeated the Tigers of St. Paul's College 14-0 in a muddy battle at Bulldog Stadium. It was definitely a defensive battle and at the end we came out on top to win the war. They now have to games left in the regular season against Virginia Union this Saturday, and Virginia State next Saturday. Since the last issue, the Lady Bulldogs volleyball have won a couple games however, all hope is lost for this season at least. They have put forth an effort but next season they need to put up another one. Coach Thomasson needs to figure out how where the problem really lies with this squad. Whether it's coaching personnel, players, conditioning, strategy, or flat out skill she needs to figure out the problem. These standings are unacceptable. Its one thing to not have a good season but this is just undesirable to watch. Next week starts the beginning of a new NBA season, and my Los Angeles Lakers will be defending their championship against the league. Something I'm hoping they'll do successfully. They will open up against the Los Angeles Clippers next Tuesday at the Staples Center. It will be an amazing night so make sure everybody takes the time out to watch opening night. In addition, the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs basketball season will begin the second week of November. The men will open up against Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, while the women while take the trip down route 1 to play the Lady Terrapins of University of Maryland. Make sure you keep an eye open for these games. |
