        Barbara T. Jackson teaches courses from academic and practical perspectives.  An active member of the educational community with national international experiences, Dr. Jackson has held positions in the D.C. Public School System to include classroom teachers, U.S. Department of Education Follow-Through Coordinator, school principal, regional superintendent for 36 schools (P-12), executive assistant to the superintendent, and interim vice superintendent.

        In the field of higher education, Dr. Jackson served as in-service instructor for area colleges and universities including The Catholic University, George Washington University and Trinity College.  Additional appointments included Director of Education at Antioch College and adjunct professor for the doctoral program in Child and Youth studies, Nova Southeastern University.

        Dr. Jackson contributes to the growth and development of Bowie State University as a member of the Dean’s Administrative Council, University Graduate Council and the Curriculum, Evaluation and Graduation Committees.  Dr. Jackson was the chief compiler of the approved program report submitted to NCATE for the accreditation of the School Administration and Supervision program.

        As the former president of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), an organization of 18,000+ members, Dr. Jackson currently serves as executive director of ASCDs District of Columbia affiliate chapter.  Dr. Jackson has presented at local, national and
international conferences, and provided scholarships and book awards to graduating high school seniors and continuing college students.
