THE HISTORY OF THE BOWIE STATE UNIVERSTIY PI ALPHA ALPHA HONOR SOCIETYDuring the fall 2009 academic semester, five graduate Bowie State University scholars matriculating in the Master's in Public Administration (MPA) program, united by a common pursuit of high scholarly achievement, petitioned the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration to request permission to charter a Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society on Bowie's campus. It was their desire to promote and encourage academic achievement amongst their peers and future graduates of the program.
