Welcome to the Department of Social Work’s website.  The social work profession demands a broad knowledge base, effective helping skills, and professional values and ethics.  The social work department cultivates leadership and excellence in practice through experiences in classroom learning, field instruction, and direct engagement in action to end social and economic injustice.

The social work program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Social work courses are structured and sequenced to prepare students for entry into the social work field with the professional development of knowledge, skills, and values appropriate for baccalaureate-level positions.  Choosing social work as a profession prepares you for an exciting career option, and we hope our department’s web pages encourage you to explore a career in social work.
