        Dr. Marion Amory teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in reading on campus and at off-campus centers.  Dr. Amory's research interests have focused on the influence of effective leadership on urban students' sustained achievement at grade level and above reading on standardized reading tests.  She is focusing on discovering the best ways to improve reading achievement scores for urban students. 

        In previous positions, Dr. Amory has served as Department Head in English/Language Arts and Title One Programs at the Madison Park High School in Boston, MA.  She was a Reading Supervisor for the Boston School System and for the East Orange, New Jersey School District.  She has worked as an elementary and middles school classroom teacher, a reading specialist and a reading clinic supervisor. 

        Dr. Amory also served with the North Carolina State Board of Education and the esteemed Reading Clinic at Northeastern University.
