Dr. John Organ, Jr.
Professor

        Dr. John Organ, Jr. has taught health & physical education at Bowie State University since 1976.  He was also the Bowie State University Athletic Director (1980-1985) and the Head Football Coach (1976-1985).  Dr. Organ is currently president of the Faculty Association.

        Prior to joining Bowie State University, Dr. Organ taught at Howard University where he coached football, wrestling and golf.  He has won numerous coaching awards from the Western District Football Association, CIAA, MEAC and NAIA.  Dr. Organ was selected to officiate the Regional District Wrestling Championships (1996-2000). 

       Dr. Organ has received many honors including the NAIA District Football Coach of the Year (1978); the DC Coach of the Year (1978); the DC Coaches Association Football Appreciation Award (1981); the AKA Outstanding Leadership Award (1991); appointment to the Montgomery County Physical Fitness Commission (1986) and induction into the Lynchburg, Virginia Area Sports Hall of Fame (1997).
