Graduate education at Bowie State University is governed by a series of policies designed to assist students in achieving their academic goals and to protect the academic integrity of the educational programs offered. Policies provide consistency and order to the academic process. It is important for students to familiarize themselves with the policies and to refer to them as they navigate through their academic careers. Policies fall within three categories. The first category specifies the requirements for the completion of a degree. These policies provide the framework for the graduate program. The second category concerns the specific issues related to a student's program of study. These policies specify the manner in which changes and exceptions can be made to enhance a student's educational experience, (i.e., course transfers). The third category concerns the integrity of both the program and the student. These policies govern disciplinary actions and penalties.
