Bowie State was actually one of best schools that I considered in my college search. I had been looking at small community colleges, but I was encouraged to look into a four-year university. When I visited the campus, the atmosphere and the people were so welcoming, and it was very easy for me to see myself here. Even though Bowie State had all of the opportunities of a large university, the Honors Program provided me a smaller and intellectually intense community that was very exciting to me as an applicant.
During my freshman year, the Honors Program provided challenging classes and cultural opportunities that I might not have had access to otherwise. I had come from a large, academically intense high school, and the Honors Program provided a similar atmosphere. Most of my classes were with a core group of students who quickly became friends as well as classmates.
Additionally, the Honors Program provides its students with opportunities on campus that we might otherwise miss, such as speakers, performances, and research opportunities. Overall, I think that the Honors Program has done its best to open up as many doors as possible so that its students can get the best from the Bowie State experience.

I want to become one of the richest people in the world by the time I am 30 years old. This sounds far-fetched to many people, but because I educate myself through the words of other successful individuals, I feel it is not as impossible as others may perceive. Having money to flash around is not important to me; it is what I can do for others that keeps me from giving up. I've always wanted to do something incredible to better this world we live in, but since I do not have a passion for finding cures and inventing wonder machines, my best bet is to help people economically.
I want to promote the environment, education, and the economy for as many places and people as I can. I came to Bowie State University so that I could get an education, but more importantly, so that I could become independent from my family. Since I have been here I have been able to work on my first business and meet many inspiring people. I intend to grow more throughout my college career, and I intend to grow my business as well. Bowie State is a small school that makes me feel welcome, and I hope to be able to bring what I learn here to others in the future.
