What is your favorite college memory?

My most memorable college experience was during my junior year when I became a Bowie State University (BSU) cheerleader.  When I arrived at the try outs, I was very nervous.  There were a lot of talented girls stretching and tumbling as they prepared for their turn.  I gathered my thoughts and began to concentrate on the one thing that I could do best.  When it was my turn, I presented myself very confidently, as if I were already a member of the squad.  I was excited and I gave it everything I had.  The next day when the selection was announced, I was one of the first names called.  I was so excited that I screamed.

What was the greatest lesson you learned in college?

The greatest lesson I learned in college was to attach myself to students who were assertive and outgoing like me so they would continue to motivate me to do well.  They had good work ethics and they often shared the secrets to a successful academic career.

What is your favorite place on campus? Why?

My favorite place at BSU is known as "the lawn," the grassy knoll located in front of Holmes Hall.  I like this area because it's where I used to go when I wanted to be alone or to get some peace.  I would gather my thoughts there and prepare for the next challenge.
