Erica Johnson is a proud native of Prince George's County, Md. She is a senior communications major with a concentration in broadcast journalism. Academically, she is a proud Dean's List student.
In addition to being a scholar, she is very active at her university and in the community. Some of her involvements both on and off campus include membership in the Student Government Association (Junior Class President), the National Society of Leadership and Success, Toast Masters International, and Golden Girl cheerleading squad. She is the talk show host for CTV's "Teens N Focus," a program that encourages young people to value education and themselves, as well as plan for the future. She is also an empowerment expert for "Fab camp," a summer camp for girls that teaches etiquette, esteem and empowerment.
Erica is passionate about volunteering and giving back. She has done service for numerous causes over the years, such as breast cancer, ovarian cancer, diabetes and AIDS awareness. She has participated in fundraisers, bike rides, walks, fashion shows and various programs to support these important causes.
Erica's passion to empower others led her to choose her platform: fearless. Her platform encourages students to fearlessly excel and create legacies, while enhancing student success. Last but not least, Erica was the third runner-up in the Miss National Black College Alumni Pageant that took place in Atlanta, Ga., on Sept. 28, 2013.
