George AcquaahA book written by Dr. George Acquaah, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, was ranked among the top four postgraduate biology textbooks in the world at the Society of Biology’s inaugural book awards at the organization’s annual award ceremony in London, England last week. The second edition of his book, “Principles of Plant Genetics and Breeding” was selected from more than 60 entries by the London-based organization that influences governmental policy, advances education, and encourages public interest in the life sciences.

George AcquaahPresident Mickey L. Burnim will be honored for his leadership in establishing the Male Initiative mentoring program at BSU at the “Men Who Make the Difference” celebration hosted by Mentoring to Manhood on Thursday, Nov. 15. Mentoring to Manhood is one of the largest mentoring programs for young Black boys in Prince George’s County.

Archie MorrisA paper written by Dr. Archie Morris III, assistant professor of public administration, was listed among the top 10 downloaded papers on the Social Science Research Network e-library under the category: political institutions, federalism and sub-national politics. His paper, “On American Federalism: Opposite and Rival Interests,” was downloaded more than 35 times since Aug. 22 from the worldwide online database of scholarly research in the social sciences and humanities.
