The Henry Wise Wellness Center has licensed and experienced providers who specialize in diagnosis and treatment of college health problems. The Henry Wise Wellness Center's mission is to provide students with timely, convenient, high-quality, cost-effective primary care services, including health promotion and education, in a caring environment which respects students' dignity, diversity, and privacy. Our staff understands your health needs and is committed to working with you as partners to keep you healthy and help you recover when you are sick. We consider you an important member of the health care team and welcome and take seriously your ideas, concerns, and suggestions. As a student at Bowie State University, you have an excellent opportunity to learn how to maintain and improve your health and to use the health care system appropriately. All students are strongly advised to have a health history/immunization form filed in the Henry Wise Wellness Center from their physician. Those who walk in without an appointment may be required to wait until there is an opening in the schedule or they may chose to make an appointment for later during the day or week. They will be seen on a first come, first serve basis after students with appointments have been seen. Upcoming events H1N1/INFLUENZA UpdatesImmunization Forms The Henry Wise Wellness Center is still accepting immunization records for all students. Any students who have not yet submitted their immunization records, entrance medical history forms or meningitis waivers should submit the forms as soon as possible to avoid holds being placed on their accounts for the Spring 2009 semester. Please call 301-860-4170 for any questions. Forms can be faxed to 301-860-4179. If you have already submitted your immunization forms but recently received a letter stating that your forms are missing, please confirm receipt of these materials with the Wellness Center after January 7, 2009 when we re-open after the holidays. We will extend the grace period until the second week school re-opens to resolve any outstanding issues and to avoid holds on registration.. We apologize for any inconvenience. Happy holidays!!!
