2010 Maryland Charity Campaign: Every Dollar Makes a Difference

Bowie State University's 2010 Maryland Charity Campaign will launch on December 6, 2010 and end on January 31, 2011. The campaign is a workplace charitable-giving program that offers state employees the opportunity to contribute to charities using the convenience of payroll deduction. Currently 892 charities participate in the campaign.

In 2009 the Maryland Charity Campaign raised $3,709,952. The effort raises vital funds for nonprofit organizations that serve pressing community needs. Support of this kind is more important now than ever given the condition of our economy and the number of citizens requesting assistance. Last year the number of participants from our university was noticeably less than in years past. This year the goal is to have at least 200 members of our community participate at a level of personal choice and significance.

Please join me in making a gift to the Maryland Charity Campaign. Your gift, regardless of the amount, is needed and will truly make a difference.
