Why did you choose to attend Bowie State University?
My parents wanted me to attend a local HBCU because they believed that it would instill a sense of pride in me. They also believed that at historically black institutions you're not just a number but part of a family. My parents later sent me to London and Paris with Bowie State's Finance and Economics Club.

What professor/s has had the most impact on you and why?
The entire communications department has helped me to better my academic career. The communications' professors made sure that I received my money's worth and that I am fully prepared for acceptance into the public relations field. Writing is especially important in public relations. Dr. DoHarris of the English department truly helped me to improve my writing skills. I have never again seen so much red editing on my paper as I did in her course. Because of Dr. DoHarris, I have a great foundation of the English language.

How Bowie State helped to enhance your cultural experiences?
Before I came to Bowie State, I never watched the news or showed the slightest interest in politics, in general. But at Bowie State, professors quiz you on current events. There are symposiums on international relations and biotechnology. Dr. Ellis of the communications department stresses that excellent public relations' practioners stay up-to-date on current events.

Next Steps
I plan to enter law school during the fall 2011 semester. I am not sure what law I will practice but I have a strong interest in Intellectual Property law.
