Personal Values and Academic Achievements
Honest and a hard worker.  Dedicated to my daughter and her well being and just making a better life for her and me.  As a rule I always finish what I start because I lead by example.

Why did you choose to attend Bowie State University?
I decided to attend BSU because it is a HBCU.  I always dreamed of coming and supporting our culture and continuing to help build something for our black community.  Another reason is so that I could be close to home because I am a mother of a 6 year old little girl.  Lastly, my proud father, one of my role models, is a BSU alumnus.

What professor/s has had the most impact on you and why?
Professor Kesslyn Brade-Stennis has had the most impact on my life.  Being in her class opens your eyes and forces you to think from another perspective.  I can truly say that her class was one of the classes that I have attended and came out remembering almost everything she taught me.

How has Bowie State helped to enhance your cultural experiences?
Bowie State has helped me enhance my cultural knowledge because I get to learn from other African Americans and other diverse cultures.  I focus now on a lot of issues that I would not have thought about before matriculating here. Bowie has instilled in me to always be aware of what's going on around you.

Next Steps
I plan on attending UMUC for graduate school in the fall.  The program that I will be in is a dual masters program, where I could receive my masters in both criminal management and business administration.  It's always a good thing to be well rounded.

What extracurricular activities and community service have made a significant and positive difference in your life?
Outside of school I am working with the youth at my church.  Sometimes older adults don't understand the struggle that teens today go through.  It felt important to learn that teens are able to express themselves to me and actually want a response even though I haven't been here that much longer than them.  It makes me want to continue helping people.
