VIII - 1.42 - Policy on Telecommunication and Fax

TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Authorization for the installation of telephones is the responsibility of the Executive Staff (President, Provost, and Vice Presidents) for employees within their areas. This responsibility may be delegated to unit heads at the discretion of the individual Executive Staff member.

University telephones are, generally, to be used only for the conducting of University business. Authorization must be given for long distance calls, and careful records of such calls maintained. Any individual making unauthorized calls will be held personally liable for the charges.

FAX

Use of University FAX machines for any purpose other than the conducting of University business is strictly prohibited. Authorization must be given to FAX a document if the FAX transmission will incur a long distance charge. Any individual making unauthorized FAX transmissions will be held personally liable for the charges.
