| Write Your Novel Here! November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), and the BSU Department of English and Modern Languages Creative Writing Program will host Thursday writing sessions for members of the Bulldog Nation interested in creating a 50,000 word work of fiction in 30 days. No experience is necessary. All writers are welcome including those who do not work, study, or teach at Bowie State. The first orientation meeting will be on Thursday, October 25 from 2:30-3:30 p.m., and it will be led by fiction writer and instructor, Prof. Rion A. Scott. The meeting and each weekly writing session will be held in the Smith Vidal Literacy and Language Center (MLK 251) on the Bowie State campus across from the MARC train station. Would-be novelists and established writers should create an account at the National Novel Writing Month website (http://www.nanowrimo.org/). The website offers resources and writing support as well as ways to track your progress, link with other writers, and see NaNoWriMo centers around the world. NaNoWriMo began in 1999 with 21 writers. Last year, over a quarter million writers participated. Come join us on October 25 and Thursdays in November (except Thanksgiving) to turn your dreams of a novel into a reality. For more information, please contact Prof. Rion A. Scott - 301-860-3725 or rascott@bowiestate.edu or Dr. Monifa Love at mlove@bowiestaate.edu. |
